Magnetic tip screwdrivers can be very useful - for example when fishing a
dropped screw out from between daughterboards. On the other hand, don't
rely on them to keep from dropping screws into operating equipment.
Nobody's perfect. <:-( Switch off/unplug first.
I once saw a computer instructor (He knew better, but he was in a hurry -
and that's when accidents happen!) install a videocard, tighten the screw,
put down the screwdriver, power up the system, and try to load the video
drivers from the 5 1/4 inch floppy disk he had just put the screwdriver on...
"Not ready error reading drive A
Abort, Retry, Fail?"
... and learned a couple of new cuss-words.
