Let me start by saying this is gonna sound strange. I am looking to add a
second battery to my notebook, a Quantex model TS30I. I would like to order
it from one of those nifty catalogs that sells all sorts of batteries and
accessories for cell phones and stuff cause they seem to run a little
cheaper than from Quantex. The only problem, they don't list Quantex under
the brands for which they carry batteries. Now here comes the strange part.
I am looking for what series of Dell Notebook corresponds to my model of
Quantex. For anyone confused, let me clarify. Dell and Quantex, among many
other companies, do not manufacture their own notebooks. They buy them from
subcontractors. As luck would have it, I'm pretty sure they used the same
subcontractor during the time my notebook was made. So my question: Does
anyone out there hapen to have a Dell notebook with the same or similar
model number on the bottom sticker. Can you tell me what Dell model or
series of models it came from? I'm really not crazy. Thanks for your time.
BTW: For anyone interested in this topic of companies subcontracting
notebooks, mail me privately. There was an article in PC-World a couple
months ago about it. I'll see if I can dig it up for anyone interested.
Again, thanks.
