When I was put on a vegetarian diet (and tried it for illustrative reasons)
a few months ago, I started to develop a cavity very quickly. After 4 weeks
of the diet and feeling miserable,,,I went back to the meat and cut out
most of the starches and the milk....the cavity disappeared within a week.
I'm talking the pain vanished. It still hasn't returned.
I've read about Dr Price and his travels, and the
Pottenger foundation.....and I've seen photos of these natives, amazing
what grain in the diet can do to destroy our teeth.
If I
remember right, he was even quoted as saying that a diet low in carbs
could actually *reverse* tooth decay....something to do with the phosphorus/
calcium balance and how it deals with sugary acids....meats keep the
phosphorus high so the mouth can repel acids that would destroy the
enamel....sure seemed to work for me.
