I think the heat's getting to me...brain fog has set in.  Still going through cook books, I can't remember what blackstrap molasses is.

The dictionary defines molasses, "The thick dark to light brown syrup that is separated from raw sugar in sugar manufacture."  Whoa!  Not very paleo.  But the second definition is, "A syrup made from boiling down sweet vegetable or fruit juice."  Hmmmmmmmm.  More hope here. 

Now that I've admitted my ignorance, anyone care to fill me in:  what is blackstrap molasses?
