In the last century, and before, the puritan-like do-gooders thought that
circumcision would decrease the tendency towards self-stimulation and the
resulting pleasures in youngsters and adolescents and grown men and that
these males would therefore be more successful in all other endeavors and
this was at least in part due to racial sterotyping and generalization about
the religious ritual of circumcision among Jews and the absurd cause and
effect assumption included therein!
