Brian,
Thanks for responding to my request for assistance.  Yes, I have checked the
CPU when I removed all of the components for inspection.  No bent pins -
darn.  And, yes, the CPU is snug-as-a-bug-in-a-rug in its socket.  Securely
locked down with the lever, and the heatsink clamp additionally.

have you checked to make sure the CPU is seated correctly, 100 percent

flat, no bent pins etc. Also that the lever is firmly locked into place.

I have....err......well never mind.
