Hello Folks

I received an e-mail this morning from my good friend Michelle
Bell-Turner in No. Queensland informing me that she'd heard that the
United States Postal Service (USPS) was now irradiating all packages due
to concerns over anthrax. So I decided to check this out, and called
1-800-ASK-USPS. Well, it turns out to be quite true! Many thanks,
Michelle, for the heads up!

ALL packages sent within the United States via the government postal
service (USPS) are now irradiated.

I did ask about packages sent to destinations outside the USA via the
USPS and these are NOT currently irradiated. But certainly this could
well change.

Please note that this relates only to the USPS -- this has no bearing to
private delivery services such as FedEx, United Parcel Service (UPS),
etc.

So, to state the obvious, I'd strongly recommend that if you are sending
or receiving anything that could be in any way damaged by irradiation
such as supplements, food items, seeds, etc. that you do not use the US
Postal Service for this purpose.
