I am currently trying to add a Maxtor 10GB drive to
my current system..I have a fujitsu 6.4 presently. I have
set the jumpers on the Maxtor to slave and am running
it on the same ide cable as the Master(fujitsu)..I have
formatted the drive(1 10GB partition) and the drive seems
to not operate properly. Upon booting up..it takes my machine
upwards of 5mins to boot now( before it was more like 90 secs).
And I can copy a file to the new drive, but it takes a LONG time
to do even a small ~50k file. and the file is sometimes not
accessible...

What I am asking is does anyone have any ideas for these problems?
