I recently was shopping for 32 MB EDO SIMMs and encountered the new 4 chip
"High Density" SIMMs. Statements on several vendor sites indicated that
not all MB's supported this type EDO SIMM. Apparently they had had a lot
of returns and were giving a warning about this combination. I have an
early 233 Pentium (Max) board which would not take the newer DIMMs so I
avoided these high density SIMMs. Don't know if this related to the stated
question, but has anyone had experience with these SIMMs and older boards?
BTW, they are about $20US per SIMM cheaper than the standard density.
