A BIG THANK YOU to all who offered suggestions.
The initial trouble was in trying to get a Gateway networked with linksys
products. After my customers fiddled with it and blew it all out of the
water, I started trying to patch/fix the network. I got all back up, but
was still having troubles accessing the secondary partition on one of the
systems, and yes it was shared.
I ended up keeping the linksys and hub, as suggested, simply because I know
it's better than a peer to peer.
As either Shawn or Bob suggested, I started over from scratch and used
NetBEUI and made sure to disassociate the modem using only TCP/IP on it,
double and triple checked IRQ conflicts, fired it back up and things work
perfectly now. Oh, I also played with setting the gateway to disabling
browse master, I believe is what it was called. Things are perfect now.
Again, Thanks all.
