It's a lot more than 150 years old, ya know. The Greeks started doing it that
way, and the Romans did it their way which was a variation on the Greek Way,
and it was kept half alive (or half dead) in the Romanesque with all those
Monks and Abbots, then Leonardo and Michigaleno and their Renaissance Guys
started doing it again, then there was Vitruvius publicizing it as The Way to
Go, then Asher Benjamin and Minard Lafever and all those Greek Revivalists
and their books about Greek Love, and Classical Revival, and all that stuff
until the Great Mr. Wright came up with his Organic Method and Corbu, Gropius
and all the Modernists declared "Cornices is Dead."
