   You have a tough job working with MicroChannel. I have a bunch of old 8-bit
IBM Token Ring cards myself. *;-)

   A quick check at http://www.pricewatch.com shows a $12 internal Lucent 56K
ISA modem (assuming this is a not a dealer submission error). External modems
are still in the $40s, but wait till this time next year...ADSL and cable
modems will be slaughtering the analog modem prices.
