I have the same problem with VIA chipset socket seven
motherboards. Edit c:\autoexec.bat and put REM in front
of the statement that runs the boot virus check on the c: drive.
That should stop the pc from freezing. I have not yet
researched the fix, but I'm guessing it is something
posted on VIA's website.
