The circuitry to control the A20 gate (or whatever) is in the keyboard
controller on the board, this is evident from that fact that I know of no
motherboard that will not work without a keyboard attached (although many
will give an error message, they do boot normally if set to ignore the lack
of keyboard). Unfortunately that type of problem is very likely a MB
problem, however the person may try to reseat the keyboard BIOS chip on the
board (if it is socketed). TTYL
