Subject: [P-F] Sweet Potatoes (NB)
About this sweet potatoes...
I calculated the thiamin-content afterwards
to check my claim (or assumption)
of 2.5 to 3 mg of thiamin
necessary for 1kg of carb.
The "sweet potatoes" showed up to have
> Calories 105
> Carb (g) 24.3
> vitA (IU) 17054
> Thia (mg) 0.05
Only 2mg per kg carb... ??
Why? are they cultivated to have more carb as
natural ones?
I dont' think so, because they are not *so* sweet
and I hope close to natural occuring south-american roots.
The solution of the puzzle:
I reported the *cooked* plant.
Thiamin is instable to heat and leeching away
in cooking water ..
Food 1-SWEETPOTATO-RAW (11507)-100:1 g
Nutri Food 1
-----------+--------
Carb (g) 24.3
vitA (IU) 20063
Thia (mg) 0.07
Raw it goes up to 2.9mg/1000g.
The formula turned out to be right, at last.
I was just wondering...
