Did you check for any IRQ conflicts in device manager ?
(start|settings|control panel|system|device manager).
Sometimes it helps to just delete the device from the device
manager and let windows "find" the mouse again at startup
and/or to disable the PS/2 port in the BIOS.
Kees.
