There are MANY "combo" cards available that do both 2D and 3D processing,
the TNT is one example. The new Voodoo3 is another example. BOTH of these
cards runs by itself WITHOUT a 2D graphis card. Most performance is in the
eye of the beholder....the Voodoo3 will be the fastest, but has limitations
in it's 3D rendering: No 32 bit color and texture sizes a limited to a much
smaller number than the TNT, additonally, the TNT offers more 3D rendering
features, giving more "eye candy".
