i have a friend how has no control over her legs and drives.  she does
everything by hands and has a normal car.  sorry i don't what the equipment
is call or where to get it.  you are the one that is going to the prom, and
i guest you're still in school.  you might be a little to young to get
involve with your local Division of Rehabilitation Services.  but you might
want try anyway,  this is the kind of thing they would be able to help you
with.  you might want to try contacting a rehabilitation center your self,
because they can help with this issue, good luck.
