Mag,
The irony is that my wife and I teach anger management to court
remanded
spouse abusers. I do appreciate Jason's cognitive approach, dealing with
Ellis' irrational beliefs. One such belief I have is as Denise says, I have
to be cheerier, funnier and more pleasant. But this doesn't help the frozen
rage from the past. I really get furious when I see something innocent
being abused. Old age has mellowed this a bit, but it still bothers me.
Denise idea of "other focus" probably works best for me. If you remember
the poem I wrote to help get Saul off the list, that's the kind of thing
that works best for me, but I can't always do that. Over Christmas we were
in Austin. I had my wife, my daughter and my grandchildren in the car. We
got into a horrible traffic jam and my mouthy daughter was telling me
everything I was doing wrong. I lost it and it was not a pretty scene.
These are the times I regret.
