1. I'm not sure this got out of my computer or not. If you've seen it,
sorry, skip to 2.

>Re: Do you play the guitar? Do you play bluegrass?

>Yes. I play guitar (5,6 and 12 string) and 5-string banjo (one old banjo
>is of curly maple, one of mahogany, one of walnut-ebony-mother of
>pearl-abalone). Enough of bluegrass, and child-of-the-60's folk roots to
>camp out on the hillside at the Winterhawk festival upstate NY every
>summer. In fact the carpenter for the in-progress octagonal porch
>addition on my 1880's house in Croton, NY is a bluegrass promoter,
>musician and songwriter. If he hits his thumb on my job it's a real
>bummer!

2. The Winterhawk Festival roster is now out...including: David Grisman
Quintet (progressive), Ralph Stanley & the Clinch Mountain Boys
(traditional), Hot Rize (hot), Red Knukles and the Trailblazers (a
pseudonom for Tim O'Brian, et al, doing western swing), The Del McCoury
Band (the BESTof bands), Vassar Clements (the BEST of fiddlers), The Gibson
Brothers (the best of New York, getting big national attention...at least
among bluegrassers), Leroy Troy (has to be seen to be believed, look out
for the manure), Fiddlestyx (dance), masters workshops, learning sessions,
dance instruction, children's performances, and of course the great
campsite. Interested should contact 1-888-WINTHWK (946-8495), or
www.WinterhawkBluegrass.com

See ya there. (ps, the porch came out beautifully) --JimR
