Kelli,

I read someplace that white marks on the fingernails are often associated
with zinc deficiency. I used to have white crescents but they disappeared
after I took lots of supplements, including zinc, for awhile. I've been away
from the pills for awhile and it looks like they may be reappearing a bit on
my thumbnails.

(Incidentally, a way to test yourself for a specific deficiency or need for
a nutrient is, if you have a bottle of pure nutrient tablets, to smell the
aroma. If the smell is good, then you need the nutrient. If there is no
smell, then you have little need for it. If it smells bad, then you have an
excess.
