This is a heat problem. I don't know any heatsink designed for K7, but you
should be able to use those designed for P3. I used a huge 3 fan heatsink for
P3, haven't tried on AMD cpu yet, but the size looks ok.

Can you return the CPU for a replacement? I think it is a faulty CPU.
