My SX2-50 489 BIOS date 11/94 only recognizes up to 2GIG.
My CMOS would read the full size of the HD,(2.5G), then only show 463M.
It would only recognize 4095 cylinders out of 4994 when put in manually
in CMOS. I couldn't enter more then 4095 which = 2GIG.
Try the HD maker on-line help files.
I haven't tried FAT 32 yet myself.
I "understand" that software, ie, Disk Manger or Drive Pro can get you by
the 2GIG limit. Try the on-line HD maker files 1st tho.

P.S. don't mess w/format or fdisk,  you'll lose W98 preload !
