I have an Acer 6206A CD-RW drive set as slave to Creative Labs' Encore
PCDVD drive on secondary (as per Acer's recommendations). I recently
disconnected the burner's power leads to temporary power a second hard
drive (taking proper precautions). Since returning to original hardware
configuration, system has been unable to detect the CD-RW drive, and at
times the DVD drive as well. The CD-RW's record LED emits a steady dull
red light, and is unresponsive, not even ejecting/opening. I've
triple-checked all cabling, and all is well. Could the problem lie with
the secondary IDE channel? And, if so, how.
System in question is as follows:
4 month old MicroStar BX mb. PII 400, 128MB, Seagate 9.5GB & LS-120
(Primary IDE master & slave), SCSI Zip, ATI & Monster 3D2, Adaptec UW
SCSI card, along with the aforementioned drives.
Any help or suggestions appreciated.
