Been using non-Intel CPUs since 486 days, i.e. Cyrix and AMD. Never any
problems. In most cases cheaper and run faster if you know which CPU to use
for which applications. Some time ago, Cyrix did have some problems with
some games but they had fixes on their web site for them.
I understand the new RISE CPUs are good also. Just have not personally used
one.
Rarely would I recommend a Intel CPU over an alternative CPU given or
knowing the use of the machine, i.e. application. That is the key. Build the
machine for the application.
