My system also has the Adaptec 2940 UW SCSI bd running anUW SCSI HD and my
Jazz drive.  Have a ScanAceIII flatbed SCSI IF scanner.  I first thouht to
run the scanner from that bd, but the external adapter seemed to cost an arm
and a leg for what it was, guess it has some active components rather than
just a wiring change.  Anyway ScanAce came with it's own SCSI bd and decided
to sacrifice another xpansion slot and use it.  Has worked fine .  Guess
this is no big help to you but maybe you"ll have to end up with a separate
bd for your scanner too.
