Mag-
You are correct but I saw the x-rays myself. The problem is not with the
discs (you would think after 2.5 of medical transcription training I would
know the words well enough not to get them confused ;) we all have our off
days and I seem to have a bunch right now. Anyhow as I was getting to there
is degeneration of several of the sacrel vertabrea. The what is degenrating
is the bone which not the cartalge that is involved with the intravertrbral
discs, which is why they the doctor called it DJD refurring to the joint and
not solely the disc as in Degenrative Disk Disease. The same process is
also affecting my hips (thus another pice of evidence to support the DJD
theory) but it is much less progressed there than in my spine. Anyway I have
been impressed this guy seems to know his stuff and when I explained about
the problems that other adults with cp are having he was very accepting of
the idea unlike some doctors that I have run into in the past. I am taking
this as a positive sign. Anyway he sent me for a physical therapy eval next
friday and I am sopose to see him again in a month to see how I am doing. I
was not able to schedule the pt eval until next friday and am hoping that I
can hold out till then.

<< anne,
the disks are different - they are the soft cushions that support the
vertebrae and joints. i have degenerative disk disease too.
