Lactaid 100 seems to be pretty well completely lactose free.

ROLL CALL PART - I'm from New Hampshire, 50 and have been SEVERELY lactose
intolerant for half my life. So, even small amounts of lactose do me in; like
the amounts in most pills/tablets; etc.

The problem with Lactaid 100 [or any Lactaid product] seems to be that it is
produced under license by various local dairies. Here in this area [New England
area] it is by Hood; they seem to be very good about full conversion of the
lactose. Down South, in the Carolinas, the dairy that does it does not seem to
be quite as scrupulous about quality control; I had minor difficulty with some
of the milk from them. I have NEVER had a problem with the milk up here.
(except when I carelessly bought the 70% stuff instead of the 100% - and I don't
think I can blame anyone but ME for that one)

Just as a note: it is not a milk substitute, it IS milk. It is just lactose
reduced/eliminated. So, for people who are unlucky enough to have other milk
sensitivities and/or allergies, this is NOT an alternative. Only those of us
who are Lactose intolerant can benefit from this one.

And by the way, the 2% fat version of the 100% lactose reduced Lactaid tastes
best in my opinion. Yeah, I know. But live a little. . .
