John,
This video card should work..it may take some work...
1. If this Packard Bell has video on the motherboard, it may have
   a jumper or bios setting that needs to be changed before it will
   work with an external video card. If you have a manual, study it
   for any info on this.
2. If it has video from the main board, be sure to move your
   monitor's video cable to the new video card connector.
3. Before installing the new video card, set your resolution to
   600x480 or the lowest video resolution.
4. Go to control Panel/Display...Settings Tab..."Change Display Type"
   /Change.../Show all devices.../standard display types/standard VGA.
   You will probably be asked to do this by your Creative install anyway,
   before installing the new drivers.
I recently installed a Diamond S220 video card on a new system with an
old Packard Bell monitor and had big problems until I searched
thoroughly in Diamond's website and finally found a note to set
monitor type to NEC Standard vga A2..(or something like that), to get
it working and then downloaded and installed  new drivers from diamond
and was then able to set monitor back to the proper packard bell.
Search Creative's website for more info...email them if necessary.

Try some or all of these tips and if you still have problems, write back
with more information.
