Was it prepackaged hummus or from a deli counter?  If it was not pre-packaged
then I would suspect contamination from maybe a serving spoon or something
like that.

I sure hope he is not allergic to more stuff.  It really gets to be a pain
managing a growing list of food allergies (Been there and still do that!)
