Interesting article.  If we equate willpower with effort
sustained over time, then my own experience is that there is no
weight loss plan that does not require willpower.  That is, I
haven't found a way that is effortless.  All weight loss systems
require vigilance of some sort, and vigilance requires effort.

The times in my life when I have been lean without vigilance have
been the times when I didn't have enough money to buy much food.
