I think it's a bit presumptuous to think we can eradicate life on earth.
I believe we will destroy ourselves long before we destroy this planet.

Animals may not "think" about the well being of other species, but they
have instincts that keep them in some kind of harmony with their needs in
relation to the needs of other species and forms of life.

If we want to stick around to enjoy life here on earth for a while longer,
we better clean up our act. But it's probably too late. I think nature
knows how to clean up her act better than we do. And 'she' just might get
eradicate us.
