According to statistics, vegans have a higher rate of _neurological_
diseases than non-vegans do. Emphasis on "neurological". Vegans have a
lower rate of heart disease and cancer, and probably have better health overall.
When saying vegans statistically have a higher rate of neurological
diseases than non-vegans, I am not in any way saying or implying that vegans
are less healthy overall, or that vegan causes neurological diseases. So
don't nobody get excited.
Someone says "Some of the healthiest people I know are vegans." So what?
Some of the healthiest people I know smoke, eat junk food, and whatever
else you can image. Some of the longest-live people have bad health habits.
Like Calment who lived to 123 and had bad health habits, and the guy who
lived to 115 and did everything bad for his health. I don't go by
hand-picked cases.
The fact that there is some statistical correlation between vegan and
neurological diseases does not mean cause. Correlation is not cause. But
we would be correct in asking what is the explanation of this correlation.
