I have seen exterior paintings that were applied to concrete panels that
were sealed in the name of preservation only to have the whole thing
come off in sheets.
Determine the cause of the failure? Correct the problem before any other
action is taken.
XIM products are good products from my experience but not as a
protective coating on historic materials. Use something that can be
removed in the future. We normally use thinned shellac as a
sealer/barrier between old and new coatings.
