Just installed a Maxtor 8.3gb drive as a slave on a NEC Ready 9700
system. When power is put on and Win 95 Explorer is opened, no D: is
listed (that's the new one). Now using Shutdown-Restart option when the
system comes back up and Win 95 Explorer is opened, there it is. From
that point, everything is normal. D: is fully functional .. tried lots
of disk activity (including copying back and forth from C: to D:) and no
problem. But, the exact same condition occurs after power off, then
powering on!! It repeats every time, with Shutdown-Restart being
necessary to "activate" the drive.
Checked BIOS, everything ok - drive is properly identified. Tried
forcing (BIOS) a new config file to be built, no change. Not sure what
else to try? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
