I don't understand why you want to go non-mmx.
I recently upgraded my Intel 133 MHz to an Evergreen 200 MxPro in a very
early and junky Houston AT socket 7 MB. I don't think MMX even existed when
the board was made! Passed the Intel 133 on to my son who installed it in
his computer in place of a 75 MHz CPU. Both changes worked great.
I've since replaced the Houston board with an ASUS P5 A-B to resolve a RAM
problem. Very pleased with the results.
Anyway I presume that your 75 MHz has a Bus speed of 50 MHz. As long as you
can change that to "66 MHz Bus or 100/133 CPU Speed" to quote the Evergreen
installation instruction, you should have no problem.
I don't use the computer for games so I don't know or care about the bonus
MMX advantage.
Installation went easily and well. [log in to unmask] should be able
to confirm your current board's ability to handle the MxPro 200
Good Luck,
