He should check in the manual, I have a 2240. It has a caution note stating I
need to use 10-nanosecond or 100 mhz SDRAM, DIMMs. Must support Serial
Presence Detect. In addition, I called Compaq, I forget now if I needed the tin
pins, etc etc. I didn't buy Compaq brand, even the rep said they were too steep
and any other brand as long as it was in line with the specs was fine. He's
lucky I can't install any more and I only have 48 Megs.
