You have way too little RAM to be running Win95 on those machines. I
have a 924 CDS that I upgraded to Win95, but only after installing
additional RAM and downloading the Softpaq's from the Compaq website
that must install the proper 'tweaks' to their version of Windows to
allow the upgrade. I am no expert in this, but if you go to
http://www.compaq.com and hunt around you will find the Softpaq's
required to upgrade your machines to Win95 readiness....you'll need to
know the model #'s, of course....and install at least 16 more megs of
RAM. I was running Office 97 on that machine, and it ran, slowly, but
it ran. Good luck!
