Mike, do you know your high dollar USR modem has at least five year or
life-time warranty? Of course if you got OEM version (white box), there
is only one year for OEM version. In either case, you should give them
a call and see if you can get a replacement for free. Hate to see a
good modem wasted.
Jose, you can go to surplus and auction places to look for named brand
voice modem to use for your answering/fax need. Like Hayes, Motorola,
USR, they works our really well.
