I think it was that movie {To Have and Have Not} with Humphrey Bogart
and Lauren Bacall where HB's sidekick, Walter Brennan, kept asking
Lauren Bacall {Slim} "Was you ever stung by a dead bee??"

Worst bee sting I ever had was from a bee [dead or dying] that I stepped
on in my own bedroom while making the bed. It was severe and painful.
I have had only three bee stings: one in my kitchen while washing
dishes, one while driving my car {was in my blouse..ouch ouch..and stung
me on the jaw as it flew up, and the one in the bedroom.

I have a backyard full of bees, have been camping all over, have never
been stung by a bee 'outside'. Go figure.
