The Food Allergy Network (FAN) has helpful booklets regarding sending a child
off to school with food allergies and they offer a lot of suggestions on what
the child, the parent and school personnel need to do in order to make the
child's entrance into school a safe and positive one. The booklets are of very
nominal cost and very informative to someone dealing with this issue for the
first time.
Also, FAN has a Preschool and Daycare Food Allergy Management program, which
is a program in a box, complete with instruction manuals for school personnel,
videotapes for student and school personnel on dealing with food allergies,
and an Epi-pen trainer. I think the program costs around $75. If the school
can't afford it, then perhaps you can consider buying it and donating it to
your child's preschool and use it as a tax deduction.
