One of my dad's favorite stunts was to place several stratigically located
very fine copper wires on the seat of the couch. He would wire them in an
open circuit parallel scheme to the crank magneto generator in the phone
hanging on the wall. When anyone went to make a call everyone on the couch
would jump. Some years later it was my first plaster repair job to fix all
the head dents in the ceiling !
