In my last posting, I spoke for the preservation and clarity of that which
is "authentic". I am less disturbed by a Starbuck's selling coffee in an
authentic historic house as I am of tarting it up and calling it all
"historic". Coffee and trinkets sell. Preservation takes care, and money.
It's when the real thing gets destroyed that I squeek... and when the
phoney can't be told from the authentic that I fear that our generation
looses its sensitivity. Heed the following:

"But 'glory' doesn't mean'a nice knock-down argument,'" Alice objected.
"When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said, in rather a scornful tone, "it
means just what I choose it to mean--neither more nor less."
"The question is," said Alice, "whether you can make words mean so many
different things."
"The question is," said Humpty Dumpty, " which is to be master--that's all."

When the master is senseless, so is his house. --JimR
