I know there are a lot of standard library systems that are used to catalog
and shelve books.  But can someone recommend a system for the (not so
humble) collection of preservation, art and architecture books that a
moderate sized architectural office like mine can use.  We're talking under
100 linear feet of stuff.  Standad technical files are integrated on the
CSI system with articles and pamphlets kept in filing cabinets and a whole
collection of Ashurst, Simmons, etc.  Other books are now informally
grouped by city, architect, style, building type, interiors, theory,  etc.
And then there are all of those NPS, APT, RESTORATION, ICROM, etc.
conference notebooks.  Some modern subjects are separated from the
historic, interiors pattern books on their own, and rare books locked up.
And I don't dare bring in the books I keep at home.  I've got to get
organized!  Any suggestions, bookworms?  --Jim
