A co-worker of mine is trying to establish a catalog of samples from a
variety of sand suppliers. We'd like to be able to describe the aggregate
of any given mortar using references that anyone can go out and get.

Does anyone have a favorite sand supplier? We're looking for companies
that supply a relatively consistent product, who won't mind sending us a
small sample of each of their sands. Generally we're looking in the
Northeast, but we're not overly particular. You can contact my co-worker
directly at

Any leads, comments, advice etc. would be appreciated. Thanks. (Yes,
there are issues with trying to "match" historic mortars; this is only one
step in an ongoing process.)
