I don't doubt their significance in terms of general health and
well-being, but I have not found any source that shows that they
play anything but a minor role in cholesterol levels. There have
been *numerous* studies of aerobic and anaerobic exercise and
their effects on cholesterol. These effects tend to be quite
modest -- typically less than 10% reduction. Studies on stress
are even more nebulous, since it is hard to quantify stress or
stress reduction.
