Two observations:  In our 10 years of dealing with food allergies I find
there are very far and few between studies done for food allergies.  And over
the years I have seen so many claims to studies that I am so skeptical when
reviewing the latest reports.  Even the highly regarded food allergist have
changed positions on several issues.  When I was pregnant 8 years ago with
our second son I could only find Allan Bock's guidelines found in Food
Allergy (published in 1988 and my medically trained friends kid that if you
need a book to put you to sleep....).

Based on our experience avoiding dairy while pregnant/nursing has made a HUGE
difference between the health of our boys. Our older son who is on high
dosages of asthma meds, has several severe food allergy reactions, severe
ezcema and our younger son who rarely needs meds for asthma, no ezcema and
his food allergy reactions are much more mild .  The difference was I avoided
dairy while pregnant and nursing for 11 months.  I wasn't 100% dairy free,
but I never consummed large quantities of it.  And I made sure that I took
multivitamin and calcium.  So based on personal experience I would say if I
were in their study, it wouldn't have the same outcome.
