<< . In case you ain't figured it out
yet, I'M SOLD! I used to have occasional arthritic joint pain (only some
joints like shoulders, fingers, hips, knees, feet) but all that has
disappeared as well. I told my Dad about it and he jumped into it (OK, his
arthritis was too bad at the time to do any jumping) and he has since
stopped taking all his arthritis medicine. I was always a fat, out-of-shape
guy and now, well, I'm still fat. But I can run five miles in 55 minutes
and squat over 300 lbs (barbell, that is, not BM). I have a fairly long
diet/weightloss history I can write if anyone's interested but this, my
first post anywhere, is starting to seem a bit lengthy. Here's a question
I'd like to toss out: How do you guys explain in as few words as possible
why bread is bad for you? People are really shocked when I make that
statement. >>
Wow! I am impressed! I too am sold on the diet, the more so the longer I have
been following it. My muscles are more defined with less effort, I'm 5'6",
weigh 123, and I eat all I want (like a football player) as long as its
strictly neaderthin. BP is 100/70, and pulse rate is very slow, although its
from running long distance for a considerable part of my life. Presently, I
haven't been running since having my baby who is now 1 1/2. All my life I
had very chronic constipation problems before I discovered the diet, now I am
regular. I was also about 20 pounds heavier before all this even though I
would work out considerably, and tried just about any diet imaginable -
lowfat, vegetarian, vegan, raw food, etc.
Now when people ask about such things as bread, I tell them I'm allergic to
the wheat gluten. Its really a simple answer without having to explain the
matter of foreign proteins wheat contains that are not conducive to our
bodies' absorption due to our level of evolution. If they want to know more,
refer to them to the book. Someone else on the list might have a better
answer.
Hope this helps.
