I used only one metal post, the others are plastic spacers.
BTW, would it be a good idea not use any metal post at all (using plastic
spacers only)? Or does it leave the mobo ungrounded ?

That's a poor idea, because no board provides holes for them all.
Some of those metal posts are going to wind up near/touching the
underside of the board in areas that were not designed to be grounded,
and I imagine that a short here might produce symptoms like you
describe.
So, if this is a new machine, I would check that metal posts are
present only where there are holes to bolt the motherboard into place.
