Hello to all
I have a customer with a problem that I don't even know how to approach.
The machine boots and runs the post properly. Memory tests okay. The
machine goes out and detects and finds the CD-rom, then the message
"Verifying DMI Pool Data..." comes up. This is as far as the machine goes.
It hangs at this point. This machine has had a recent upgrade [the
motheroard got fried during an owner installation of a new modem]. It has
been working fine for a couple of weeks and now suddenly decides not to
boot.
Here is the pertinent information: This is a new A-trend ATC-5050
motherboard with the 430TX chipset. The processer is a Pentium 166mhz w/o
mmx [also new]. The memory is of unknown type, other than 16 meg is in the
form of 72 pin SIMMs and one 16mb stick of 66 mhz DIMM. I also installed
the Win98 upgrade to the original Windows 3.1 software. The original
manufacturer of the machine was a company called "Touch".
Has anyone any ideas on how to approach this problem?
TIA
Mike Buraczewski
